The 2009 Mushroom Conference at Breitenbush Hot Springs Resort near Detroit Oregon will focus on mushrooms as food.

Patrice Benson will share techniques about gourmet cooking and mushroom preservation. Dr. Tom Odell will teach proper mushroom identification for the purposes of eating wild foraged mushrooms safely. Dr. Britt Bunyard, editor of FUNGI magazine will enlighten us about mushroom feasting around the world. Our own Mushroom feasting will be directed by Chef Michael Blackwell at the Cooking and Tasting event. To feed your artistic or crafty side, needle-felt a wool mushroom model in a workshop taught by designer Molly Bernstein. Famous Forager Langdon Cook will broaden the edible landscape with interesting foraged wild things!

Guided field trips, lectures, cooking, art, and identification workshops will fill the time between soaking in the hot waters of the natural springs. Treat yourself to an educational, delicious, and relaxing autumnal event in the midst of the old growth forests of Oregon.
